333 Series

Unconventional and far from any cleavage, this outlet reintroduces the concept of EP at the heart of the label. Based on a two tracks format, each release features an ultra limited vinyl edition (125 numbered copies in silkscreened cover) displaying an artwork signed by Remy Uno & Heng of Drops. A craft approach that puts forward the quality of the object as much as a tribute to a fundamental and imperishable medium.

While representing the future of the label, the name sounds like an echo to the foundations of Vomit & Tellurik soundsystems lucky number 333, the birthplace of what would later become the I.O.T crew in the late 90′s. On a more pragmatic side, the serie EP’s follow each others without stylistic theme, while still maintaining a homogeneous dynamic that covers as many genres as there are talents, whether emerging or established. A change in the catalog reference accompanies this project, which from now on displays the new IOTv2_XX standard.

Each EP is available in its collectible vinyl limited edition first, then in digital format exclusively through our longtime partner Addictech for a month. Only then it is made available at the other usual download platforms. Also please note that the vinyl edition always features a bonus track not included in the digital version …

Saurus EP by Disprove (Remix)

neuro-hop / bass-music

vinyle + digital format

3 mars 2014

Moth EP by Flatmate

neuro-hop / bass-music

vinyle + digital format

8 juillet 2013

Over the years, french duo Flatmate have established themselves as key players of the bass music scene. Starting in 2006, their sleek and intelligent dubstep production style allowed them to release on Peace Off, Ruff, and Airflex Labs. A few years later, constantly refining their sound and pushing genre boundaries, they found international recognition with releases on Screwloose Records, Caliber Music and Adapted Records.
Today, we’re very excited to present their next output on 333 Series, in the form of this monstruous 100 BPM two-tracker. MOTH is a highly contrasted steamroller with precise attention paid to bass distortions, reminding at times the flight of a giant night butterfly, while SAURUS takes great care of the dancefloor with syncopated beats leaving just about the right amount of space for otherworldly textures.

Wake the thruth by Hubwar

Dubstep

vinyle + digital format

18 novembre 2012

For this second release on 333 Series, we are very pleased to welcome Hubwar, a multifaced artist from Lyon.
The atmosfear of the first track “Until the truth” can evoke some of the anticipation movie classics like 2001 : A Space Odyssey or Blade Runner. The piece stands out as a return to dubstep origins, a mystic and futuristic dub privileging air and minimalist melodies associated with the physical energy of low frequencies. The second piece of the EP, “Wake Up !” is rougher, more intoxicating. Supported by a powerfull bass drum kit, this evolutionary piece pushes borders of dubstep and techno aside.
Available in the vinyl edition only, Rythm & Sound experiences a kind of footbridge beetween the French concrete music precursors of early 20th century and the current electronic music.
Wake The Truth, a retro futuristic journey in the quest of philosophic questions of the truth, the awakening of the consciousnesses, questionning current music codes, are laid on the table … through the dancefloor.

Colors by Uzul feat Ben Sherpa

Dubstep

vinyle + digital format

15 octobre 2012

For this first installment, we call upon Uzul,  a notorious French dub artist, who gratifies us with two tracks halfway between the Lyon school embedded by Kaly Live Dub and High Tone in France, and the early UK dubstep.

Colors unfolds a rocker rhythmic backed by heavy skanks, the perfect accompaniment for a wobble bass served on a plateau and sprinkled with perfectly mastered reverb & FX. A track that is both rich and airy, as comfortable on a dance floor as in your living room.

With Fiiyaworks we move up a gear, and Uzul hires the talents of MC Ben Sharpa for an effective and unadorned collaboration. The jerky flow of the South African leads to a darker and loud production designed for crossovers hungry dubsteppers.
